Technically, Fauvism is characterized by a violence of colours, often applied unmixed from commercially produced tubes of paint in broad flat areas, by a spontaneity and even roughness of execution and by a bold sense of surface design.
Barbara, an excerpt from the word barbaric symbolizes the people of today. This portrait of a woman represents susceptibility, tears from her eyes signifies her vision on defamation and lies, the cigarette she smokes depicts her heightened perception of pure evilness, finally, her stance that indicates the weakness of her being. Susceptibility, defamation and lies, evilness, and weakness appear to be problems of our society. They make us ready. They make us present. They make us strong.
